In recent days, the Water Center for the Humid Tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean (CATHALAC) and the Institute for Scientific Research and High Technology Services (INDICASAT-AIP) -both based at the City of Knowledge- signed an agreement of mutual collaboration. The agreement will establish a strategic alliance to strengthen, develop and intensify cooperation between the two entities.

Dr. Jagannatha Rao, Director of INDICASAT-AIP, and Dr. Freddy Picado, General Director of CATHALAC, showed their enthusiasm for the signing of the Agreement that will serve to further strengthen the scientific and technological capacities of both centers. Specifically, CATHALAC and INDICASAT-AIP join forces for the development of scientific research to improve the management of inland waters, environmental management, and processes that regulate the functioning and ecosystem services for the sustainable development of the environment.

This way, both institutions will help improve the quality of life and boost economic development in Panama and the countries of the humid tropics of Latin America and the Caribbean.
