The Regional Forum will be held in Panama from September 30 to October 2, 2014 and will bring together representatives of Latin American countries, national mechanisms of local prevention and other national, regional and international institutions for the prevention of torture, with the aim of strengthening the role of these control organisms and increase cooperation between institutions around common challenges in the region.

The German Ambassador took the opportunity to underline the importance of Human Rights for his Government, which through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs subsidizes each year about 70-80 projects around the world, whose objectives are to improve the situation of human rights through education, information and consultation.
