The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the City of Knowledge Foundation invite you to the Recognition Ceremony for World Humanitarian Day, which will take place on Tuesday, August 18, at the City of Knowledge Convention Center and which will feature the presentation of the Dance Conservatory of Panama.

During the event the 2015 Campaign will be presented, where the United Nations and its partners will celebrate World Humanitarian Day with a global social media campaign, designed to inspire and empower people around the world to demand and create a more humane world.

About World Humanitarian Day

World Humanitarian Day, celebrated on August 19, originates due to the bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, in 2003, were 22 humanitarian workers died. The date recalls the memory of those who died helping others and celebrates humanitarian workers who have the opportunity to help people in need.
