The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the City of Knowledge Foundation and PAFRA Athletic Club organize the Fourth Race/Walk for World Humanitarian Day, to be held on Sunday, August 9, at the City of Knowledge.

World Humanitarian Day activities

On Tuesday, August 18, the 2015 Campaign will be presented at the City of Knowledge Convention Center, where the United Nations and its partners will celebrate World Humanitarian Day with a global social media campaign, designed to inspire and empower people around the world to demand and create a more humane world.

World Humanitarian Day, celebrated on August 19, originates due to the bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad, in 2003, were 22 humanitarian workers died. The date recalls the memory of those who died helping others and celebrates humanitarian workers who have the opportunity to help people in need.
