Invitation to discussion group "People with Disabilities and Disasters: A conversation is not so obvious."
Panama is estimated that about 425 000 people living with disabilities, and this population is highly vulnerable to increased flooding, droughts and other extreme weather events.
Within this context and in the framework of the International Day for Disaster Reduction 2013, which aims to intensify the discussion on this crucial issue about including the needs of people living with disabilities, the United Nations Office for the Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), invites you to participate in the event: "People with Disabilities and Disasters: A not so obvious conversation ."
During the meeitng will be shared the results of the "Global Survey on Disability and Disaster" promoted by UNISDR.
Your participation is key for the analysis and reflection during the most visible global day for disaster reduction.
