AN/017-2018 Senior Systems Assistant G7

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Provide technical expert and critical resource across multiple IT areas of responsibilities, within the ICT infrastructure and networks scope, including providing Tier 3 level Global IT Technical Support for all relevant escalations.
  2. Install, configure and monitor operating systems (Windows/Linux Server, VMware) on site and in the cloud.

3.Perform daily administration, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of the messaging systems, including the support and management of Exchange servers, the monitoring of backup and mobile messaging platforms (e.g. BES, OWA, OMA, Antispam solutions, etc.).

4.Maintain, upgrade or enhance existing virtual infrastructure and storage systems.

  1. Plan, deployment, administration, manage and troubleshoot Active Directory in a multisite environment.
  2. Plan, deploy and manage of System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).

7.Ensure that data center IT Infrastructure can be resumed within required and agreed timescales following major disruption considering both local and wide area issues.

8.Implement IT Infrastructure projects for data center capacity building and provide the required logistical and technical support, and/or assumes lead role when required, for planned technology upgrades.

9.Execute backup related tasks like running jobs, configuring backup policies, performance analysis and backup troubleshooting.

10.Liaise with external vendors and core ICT teams for required Infrastructure planning, allocation and implementation, through management of existing hardware and software (virtual and physical) resources to meet business needs.

11.Propose changes in process, policy, and standards as they relate to the organizational IT infrastructure and service architecture and design principles.

12.Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation and reference materials for planned and delivered IT Services when assigned, and contribute to the development, continuous improvements and change management processes.

13.Provide guidance and leadership to field IT staff, consultants, and external service providers.

14.Perform other related duties as maybe assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience


·University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related fields from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant experience.

·Microsoft certified: MCSE or MCSA is required.

·CCNA will be added advantage.

·ITIL and Prince2 Foundation are added advantages.

·Certification in Linux Administration will be added advantage.


  • Minimum of five years of experience in managing and implementing corporate systems in a distributed multisite environment.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to think strategically and tactically while acting independently under management guidance.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills, team player able to provide technical leadership in ICT group.

·Extensive experience in administering, designing, and implementing corporate ICT Infrastructure solutions in a multi-site environment.

  • Five or more years of proven experience managing and implementing corporate Windows and Exchange infrastructure.

·Demonstrated abilities installing and configuring VMware based virtualization solutions.

·Demonstrated experience installing and configuring Linux based solutions.

·Extensive experience in asset management and monitoring technologies, and knowledge of web server technologies.

  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills, team player able to provide technical leadership in ICT group.
  • TCP/IP internetworking and related services (DNS, WINS, DHCP, etc.) network operating systems (Windows) and network management systems.
  • Knowledge of Internet web access monitoring and filtering and anti-spam and anti-virus technologies.

·Proven knowledge of Windows server platforms. Understanding of Active Directory and Exchange 2010 is a distinct advantage.

·Knowledge of Disaster Recovery concepts.


·Fluency in English and Spanish.

·Working knowledge of French is an advantage.
