From May 8 to May 10, at the City of Knowledge Convention Center, the Regional Cooperation Fair South Knowledge: Regional Exchange Solutions was held. The activity was made possible by the support of the Government of Panama, the UN system, and coordinated by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the City of Knowledge Foundation.

The Knowledge from the South Fair was organized to provide a space for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean to share knowledge on social development policies and mechanisms used in the South-South Cooperation (SSC). In addition to visualize, share and learn from experiences and successful solutions for South-South countries in the region, the Fair provided further agreements between countries that contribute to sustainable development.

The event brought solutions and mechanisms of cooperation developed by the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean in order to advance on their common development challenges. It also provided a space for promoting future exchange of SSC between offices and cooperation agencies of the governments of the region.

The Knowledge from the South Fair was attended by prominent speakers such as: Ms. Josephine Ojiambo, Presidency of the High Level Committee of the General Assembly of the United Nations on South-South Cooperation, Ms. Kim Bolduc, United Nations Resident Coordinator and UNDP Representative in Panama, Ms. Mayra Arosemena, Vice Minister in Charge of Foreign Affairs of Panama, and Dr. Tabaré Vázquez, former President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay, among others.

Organized around exhibitions, experiences, sharing sessions and satellite events, the Fair focused on four areas: Social programs and social protection systems; Fiscal policies to promote equity and social investment; Citizen participation, inclusion and public policy; and Environment and disaster risk reduction.

The City of Knowledge Convention Center, space where the Fair was held, offered a unique environment for sharing experiences and knowledge in optimal conditions, and promoted a fruitful discussion for the region.
