The City of Knowledge Foundation invites you to celebrate the month of the Country from November 21 to 24, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., by visiting the historic exhibition of the CdS Interpretative Center. The entrance will be free all days.
The building in which the Interpretative Center is located, was built in 1922 as the residence of the commander of Fort Clayton, and was part of the original set of the base designed by the architect Samuel M. Hitt, who completed the building of the Administration of the Canal in Balboa and who projected the Gorgas Hospital in Ancón.
The purpose of the Center is to educate and sensitize the public about the value of the historical, architectural and landscape heritage of the City of Knowledge, and about the efforts that are made to safeguard it and adapt it to new uses. The project of rehabilitation of the building was developed in 2010 by the historian of Panamanian architecture Eduardo Tejeira Davis.
