Information Technology Internship

Main purpose

Promote collaboration among local universities to create an environment where we can share best ICT practices.

Ensure the effective functioning of ICT equipment as appropriate in order to provide effective tools to IFRC Staff and work closely with them to identify needs in order to make the most of ICT resources.

Key objectives

Provide the opportunity and experience to an engineering student to work on an complex ICT environment in a humanitarian organization atmosphere

Provide 1st level support to Federation’s Americas Regional Office and escalate/follow up with IT Officers.

Explore and promote new IT self-service / Help Desk platform among users and master reporting features for metrics.

Harvest and test new tools available on Office 365 and make a pilot test with one unit/department asses by an IT Officer.


Student pursuing a degree in Computer Science/Electronic Engineering or related

CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft courses and/or certification related


Experience in computer networks

Experience in cloud systems


Knowledge of computers hardware/software and networks.

Know how to troubleshoot computer software and hardware problems.

Ability to work in a team, excellent communication skills.

Fluent written and spoken English

Fluent written and spoken Spanish

Cultural sensitivity

Internship estimated timeframe: 4 months
